    • Check with importing country as some registries require geldings (as well as youngstock, mares and stallions to be DNA typed prior to departure).

    DNA-typing Envelope
    • All purebred breeding stock must be DNA typed. - before registration and/or breeding
    • DNA costs for new registrations (of purebred colts and fillies) is included in registration costs and must be sent at the time of lodging registration applications with the NZAHBS. Hair samples of purebred geldings must also be supplied at time of registration but are stored at no charge
    • DNA costs for older purebred registered horses (entire males and mares) is $100 and must be paid for ahead of then being used for breeding. Please contact the Society for your DNA envelope.

    Please Note:

    • Registrations for Purebred Arabian horses must be applied for by 1 June in season of birth. Late Fees are applicable after this date.
    • Registration can be held in the case of a colt that may be gelded in the future. This registration will be held until November 1, at which time either a gelding certificate is provided or full registration fees for a colt is paid.
